GDA 750 HR / GDA 550 HR

The Highend-Line of our Instruments

The GDOES spectrometers GDA 550 HR and HR GDA 750 are the most powerful GDOES spectrometers and ideally suited for tasks in research & development. Based on a modular concept diverse option combinations are conceivable and therefore optimal configurations for your application are feasable. The GDA 550 HR was developed primarily to study conductive samples. The GDA 750 HR is also designed to analyze electrically non-conductive samples.

GDA 550 HR

The GDA 550 HR is designed to be equipped with more than 60 fixed analytical element channels, using photomultiplier tubes. This Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometer is perfectly suitable for demanding applications requiring flexibility, high resolution, and analytical precision.

The optional High Resolution SPECTRUMA CCD optics extends the analytical capabilities of the GDA 550 HR into unmatched dimensions. This enables to add an almost unlimited number of analytical element channels to any given method.

All elements including the light ones (H, O, N, Cl and C) may be determined quantitatively.

Primarily designed to analyze coatings up to a depth of 200 μm, with a depth resolution of 1 nm to 5 nm on the surface, the GDA 550 HR is also capable of executing bulk elemental analysis (chemical composition of materials) providing superior linearity of calibration curves for complex matrices. The detection limits at most are 0.1 ppm.

The GDA 550 HR is suitable for the analysis of conducting samples.

The instrument can be used e.g. for the following applications:

  • to inspect surfaces after diffusion processes
  • to examine galvanic coating processes
  • to analyze hard material coatings via PVD or CVD
  • to assess hot dip galvanizing as well as other kinds of galvanizing
  • to determine the elemental concentration in layers and bulk material
GDA 750 HR

With up to 79 possible element channels, using photomultiplier tubes, the GDA 750 HR Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometer is perfectly suitable for demanding applications requiring flexibility, high resolution and analytical precision.

The optional High Resolution SPECTRUMA CCD optics extends the analytical capabilities of the GDA 750 HR into unmatched dimensions enabling the user to add an almost unlimited amount of analytical element channels to any given method. This flexibility permits the fast determination of the composition and thickness of technical coatings.

All elements including the light ones as H, O, N, Cl, C and even deuterium (D) can be identified quantitatively.

Using the installed Radio Frequency (RF) Glow Discharge Lamp, the GDA 750 HR is unexcelled in analyzing non-conductive materials such as ceramics, glass and paint layers using the standard lamp set or a specially designed version for the universal sample unit (USU).
The GDA 750 HR is equipped with a scroll pump, which allows measurements void of hydrocarbon contaminations. Moreover, the standard equipment of the GDA 750 HR includes the so-called external plasma igniter, which facilitates the analysis of materials that are hard to excite.

The instrument can be used e.g. for the following applications:
